The Northland Community Council (NCC) Development Committee has set a date to discuss the rezoning of the lot near Beechcroft High School, which formerly housed the Beechcroft Swimming Pool (6000 Beechcroft Road). As many residents are aware, this lot has been abandoned for some time and is currently in a state of disrepair.

A proposal has been submitted to the NCC Development Committee which would see the lot rezoned from its current use (commercial swimming pool) to allow for the construction of a residential apartment complex. If approved, the 2,554-acre lot would house 48 apartment units with one- and two-bedroom layout options and parking space for 72 vehicles. The complex would be designed with a one way in/one way out traffic pattern. The proposed design of the complex features siding made from stone and cement.

The NCC Development Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 25, at 7:00 PM. It will be hosted at the Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services building in Northland Park (1721 Northland Park Avenue). All Sharon Woods residents are invited to attend the NCC Development meeting and voice their approval, concerns, or questions about the proposal.
