9:30am–3:30pm
Church of the Good Shepherd (6176 Sharon Woods Blvd)
With all of the active shooter events happening across the world, it only makes sense to be prepared. Sign up and receive FREE training from Patrol and SWAT Deputies, who are passionate about what it takes to keep you safe!
Law enforcement officers and agencies are frequently requested by schools, businesses, and community members for direction and presentations on what they should do if confronted with an active shooter event. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the “Avoid, Deny, Defend” strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.
The course will be divided into two sessions with a lunch break: 9:30am–12:00pm and 1:00–3:30pm. (Attendees do not have to stay for the second session. However, you must complete the first session in order to attend the second.)
Topics include:
- the history and prevalence of active shooter events
- the role of professional guardians
- civilian response options
- medical issues
- drills
This four-hour training is being offered to the Sharon Woods Civic Association for free. Please register on or before October 10.
