ZoneIn Columbus Announcement

March 13, 2025
Sharon Woods is part of the Northland Community, and the Civic Association supports the Northland Community Council. Please see below for a message from NCC about the ZoneIn Initiative. We would love to ensure that our neighbors can participate and make their voices heard. The 60 day period for public input started earlier this week, and there are a few hearings in the next few weeks.

Howdy Zone In Committee Meeting Invitees – most, if not all of you should have received emails through the NCC email list regarding the resolution going to city council on 3/10 to start the 60 day period for public input on the addition of the E161 corridor to the Zone In Phase 1 Title 34 standards.  If you didn’t get those emails, you can see the packet going to council and continue to see info about the survey opening and public hearings being scheduled at the Zone In website here: https://zone-in-columbus.hub.arcgis.com/
I encourage you to send this info out to your civic association and organizational email lists and post on your organizational Facebook pages or whatever social media platforms you use to communicate with your members and residents. So far, it looks like the public hearings will be held
  • First Hearing: April 2, 2025, from 5-6:30p in Council Chambers
  • Second Hearing: May 28, 2025, from 5-6:30p
  • James/Alex/Luis will let me know when the information event at the Karl Rd. Library for area residents to come learn more gets scheduled and we’ll get that out to you.
Alice Foeller and I will be providing brief testimony in support of the resolution at the council meeting on Monday. WCMH Channel 4 contacted the NCC and requested an interview and I’m in the process of setting that up.
Have a good weekend.
Pat Hammel
“The learning process is something you can incite, literally incite, like a riot. And then just possibly, hopefully, it goes on.” – Audrey Lourde
