Please note the following updates from the City of Columbus regarding public service changes due to Memorial Day.
Trash Collection:
City of Columbus trash collection service will not be provided on Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. For residents assigned a collection color, pickup will rotate forward by one day the week of the holiday:
- Monday, May 31: NO COLLECTION
- Tuesday, June 1: Gray
- Wednesday, June 2: Navy
- Thursday, June 3: Pink
- Friday, June 4: Ruby
- Monday, June 7: Gold
The color-coded collection schedule will rotate forward again on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.
For residents not assigned a collection color: If your collection day falls on or after the holiday, your trash pickup will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday.
Recycling & Yard Waste Collection:
Biweekly recycling and yard waste service with a collection day that falls on or after the holiday will be delayed by one day during the week of the holiday, with Friday’s collection occurring on Saturday.

Parking Meters:
Motorists may park free of charge at meters on Monday, May 31. Parking restriction signage at some meters will be enforced, including but not limited to morning and evening rush hours and zones marked for valets, taxis, loading, handicapped-only and residential parking permit areas.
Offices Closed:
Department offices, including the Parking Violations Bureau and the Right-of-Way Permits Office, will be closed on Monday, May 31. Permits may be filed online at https://ca.columbus.gov/ca/
