Location: Church of the Good Shepherd, Sharon Woods Blvd.

Opening: Meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance

Police Liaison: Our new Liaison is John Brown [email protected] Recent activities he has helped/is helping to resolve:

·  Officer Brown received several reports of a two year old child living at an unhouse camp located in the area of Busch Blvd and Atlantic Ave.  He responded in the area and found two camps on the below listed locations;

Location: Vacant lot directly behind the water tower & Franklin County Auditor Parcel ID #010-186954

Owner: The Child Development Council of Franklin County

Location: 969 Crupper Ave.

Officer Brown  responded to the camps and made contact with a couple at the camp on the vacant lot directly behind the water tower.  They stated that camp at 969 Crupper Ave had a child living at the camp.  Officer Brown did find items that would indicate that a kid had been at the camp, along with evidence of drug use at the camp.  Officer Brown is currently working with Code Enforcement, Patrol, and Mount Carmel Outreach to located the child.

·  The Columbus Division of Police is currently using a multi-unit approached to address the street racers on Polaris.

–          CLO is obtaining Trespass Authorization Forms

–          Crime Itel. Unit are monitoring social media postings

–          CRT are the enforcement Team

·   Officer Brown and Patrol have issued citations for Semi’s parked overtime on E. Dublin – Granville Rd and Forest Hills.  Some semi’s have been impounded.

The remediation of  SR 161  and  I71 Entrance / Exit Ramp unhoused camps are complete.

·   On Sept 28, 24 at 3:25am in the area 6230 Polo Dr. W, a Victim was sitting in his vehicle when 2 suspect approach him with a gun and demanded he exit the vehicle, the victim was shot when he tried to drive off.  The victim survive the shooting, and the investigation continues.

·  On Sept 9, 2024 at 11:14pm Officers were dispatched to a shooting at 5976 Pine Rise Ct, victim was Pronounce at 11:32pm.  No additional info available.

· Residents of Cheshire Commons Condominiums and Worthington Crossing are in the process of starting two new block watches.

Guest Speaker (Blaine Dearth) He is the Community Outreach Liaison from Franklin County Common Pleas Court. They are looking to get out in the community more. He was sharing educational information as well about how the community interacts with the court ex: jury duty Looking to destigmatize probation in the community. He was explaining different rehabilitation programs that the County has started. Blaine is a point of contact for any questions that we would have about the court. This is a new program for the court, so they are looking for feedback and community engagement. [email protected]

President Report (Thomas Page)– Tyler updated our 501c3 information at the state level and is working on the federal for IRS tax-exemption.

VP Report (Elizabeth Fulakis)- Elizabeth gathered information at the NCC meeting about how to utilize Mt. Carmel Outreach 614-512-2483 to help the unhoused. She researched affirmations for meetings and proposed saying something before each meeting to help set the tone

Secretary Report (Laura Bastin)– Gatepost door hangers are being delivered throughout the community. Thank you to our volunteers for helping get them to our neighbors. We are looking for volunteers to spread the work for future deliveries.

Beautification Report (Sandra Stamps): Sandra is coordinating the 10/19 Schrock/Sharon Woods clean up event starting at 9am with Elise. She called the City to see if they can help clean up the large branches. Can we bring the large branches to Kurz Brothers or Ohio Mulch to chop up for mulch?

NCC Report (Elizabeth Fulakis) The NCC President is looking for ideas from the group to better CCS. Mike Troolin announced the first NCC Parade Planning Meeting 3rd Wednesdays of every month at the library. Minerva Park had their voting rights suspended because they haven’t paid dues and haven’t attended meetings lately. They are also looking for ideas for good activities in the area. https://www.columbusncc.org/
